The Argentine is often praised for being a humble superstar, as there have not been many players and coaches who have had anything bad to say about his personality.
However, as pointed out by Marca there have been moments when Messi uncharacteristically lost his cool on the field, while he has also been accused of simulation on a few occasions.
In 2006, during a UEFA Champions League match against Chelsea, the Argentine went down after a tackle on former Blues defender Asier Del Horno.
The left-back was sent off for the tackle, but the moment was not forgotten by the fans at Stamford Bridge, who felt Messi did his best to get the Spaniard sent off.
Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho even accused Messi of overreacting, and believed the Argentine’s actions on the ground influenced the referee’s decision.
Messi has also thrown a few head-butts in his time, with the most recent coming in a pre-season friendly with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
