Spanish La Liga

Teams: Sporting Gijon v Real Madrid

Date:  14 April 2017

Venue: Estadio Municipal El Molinon

Real Madrid will be looking to pull clear of rivals, FC Barcelona when they travel to Sporting Gijon.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 16h15.

Los Blancos come into this clash on the back of a 3-1 win over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The hosts come into the encounter on the back of a four-game winless run and are running out of time to secure their top flight status.

Sporting have only recorded one win against Los Blancos in 15 attempts, with the Madrid outfit registering 12 wins.

Here's how they line up:

Sporitng: Cuéllar; Lillo, Meré, Babin, Amorebieta; López, Carmona, Álvarez, Vesga; Gómez; Cop.

Real: Casilla; Danilo, Ramos, Nacho, Coentrao; Kovacic, Asensio, Isco; James, Lucas Vázquez, Morata.

Gud that Madrid won at last but I don't like Zidanes approach. Cristiano can't be rest. Playing him regularly is what makes him get form and intensity to destroy opponents. Anyway a draw will be enough in the el clasico. We don't wanna beat them, we want to deceive them so that they would think they still has got a chance to the la liga tittle.

@msipholar wa lekhosi I think Zidane must bench one between Modric and Kroos, they both offer very little in going forward, they are both good in keeping possession and making the team tick but one of them has to make way for a offensive player like Isco.

modric must improve his game, his performance this season is way below par. He don't assist or score goals, the only thing he is doing better is to pass the ball back to defenders or goal keeper.

Things i realised based on today's game 1. Zidane is a big risk taker 2. Isco's performance put Zidane and the Madrid hierachy in a position to find a spot for the lad! 3. Madrid has the best bench in the world! 4.Nacho has been given fair time in the absence of Pepe and Varane 5.The future looks bright with our young players impressing everytime they get minutes 6. We should have been awarded a penalty, but then it has been an issue of late with spanish refs..they either give unnecessary penalties or don't give clear penalties 7. La liga title will have direction once El classico is played 8. This page still have buttthurt fans
