Suarez, Neymar Continue To Shine For Barca

Spanish La Liga

Result: Getafe 0-2 FC Barcelona

Date: 31 October 2015

Venue: Coliseum Alfonso Pérez

Luis Suarez and Neymar continued to shine for FC Barcelona, as they secured a 2-0 win over Getafe on Saturday evening.

Munir was presented with a chance after just two minutes when he collected a cross from Neymar in the box, before volleying wide of the mark.

The home side could have broken the deadlock in the 10th minute as Scepovic controlled well from 12-yards out but ended up firing his just wide of the upright.

Ivan Rakitic looked to hand Barcelona the lead four minutes later when he tried his luck from 30-yards out but his effort sailed just over the crossbar.

Luis Enrique's men then broke the deadlock in the 37th minute, as Sergi Roberto played a fine pass to Suarez, who showed the composure to slot past Guaita.

Barcelona had the ball in the back of the net in the 51st minute, when Munir lashed home a volley from close range, however the Spaniard was flagged for offside.

The visitors eventually doubled their advantage in the 57th minute when Neymar fired a first-time volley at the far post, after being picked out by Sergi Roberto.

There was also some positive news with regards to injuries, as Andres Iniesta made a return to action for the final 20 minutes.

Enrique's charges should have added a third goal in the 75th minute, as Neymar slipped Jordi Alba through on goal, however the defender fired straight at Guaita from point-blank range.

Alba nearly redeemed himself in the 87th minute when he spotted Guaita off his line, however his cross-cum-shot sailed inches over the crossbar.

Nonetheless, the score remained 2-0 at the full-time whistle and the Catalan giants move level on points with Real Madrid, who boast a superior goal-difference.
