FC Barcelona will reportedly turn their attention to one of Manchester United's Spanish stars in the January transfer window.
The player being targeted by Barcelona is former Spanish U21 and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera.
The Spaniard, who is in his second season at Old Trafford, has once again found himself on the bench more often than not, especially after the arrivals of Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger in the summer.
The 26-year-old is reportedly one of four midfielders the Catalan giants are following closely, the others being Juventus' Paul Pogba, Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Verratti and Koke of Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona have had their eye on Herrera for quite some time, and it’s believed they may first try to sign the player on loan as they are struggling with injuries in their first-team squad.
The Catalans will be hoping, with the possible arrival of the Spaniard and the registration of Arda Turan, that a rejuvenated midfield will improve their on-field fortunes.
Herrera has also spoken of his aspirations to represent Spain, but with the little game time he currently receives, he may find it hard to convince national team manager Vicente del Bosque that he is ready to play for his country at Euro 2016.
