Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at Anfield this afternoon, to see them go to the top of the English Premier League table.
Steven Gerrard had a chance to give Liverpool an early lead, but his long range shot in the 8th minute flew wide to the right.
A minute later Cameron Jerome had a shot for Palace but his header was never on target.
Luis Suárez put Liverpool into the lead in the 14th minute, after going down in the box, but he carried on playing and his shot, while on the ground, beat Julian Speroni in the Palace goal.
Daniel Sturridge made it 2-0 in the 18th minute, scoring a great goal from a tough angle with his left foot.
Jimmy Kébé had a chance for Palace in the 27th minute but his shot was well stopped by Simon Mignolet.
In the 38th minute Dean Moxley fouled Raheem Sterling in the penalty box, and Gerrard converted from the spot to make it 3-0.
Just before half-time Speroni saved another Sturridge attempt and then made a good save to stop Suárez and it remained 3-0 at the break.
Crystal Palace pulled a goal back in the 76th minute, through Dwight Gayle, as he got a touch with his head to a José Campana cross.
In the 86th minute Sturridge had another chance for Liverpool but his shot hit the post.
