Yaya Toure Premier League's Deadliest Penalty Taker
Manchester City superstar Yaya Toure is the deadliest penalty taker in the Premier League's history – check out which other players trail the African midfielder's impressive record from the spot.
In modern football, having somebody lethal on penalty duty is crucial as they can help determine the outcome of a game.
Toure is one of few footballers in the English top flight yet to miss a spot-kick in the prestigious competition.
The 33-year-old has taken 11 penalties in the league and scored all of them, giving him a 100% record from the spot.
The City midfielder has been in exceptional form since being recalled to his club's first team by Pep Guardiola – he was initially exiled from the senior squad this season after a public row erupted between his agent and the Spanish coach.
The Ivorian is not the only player who has never missed a penalty in the league, though. According to The Sun, there are 24 others who fall into the same category, but nobody has stepped up to the mark as much as Toure has.
In second place on the list is former Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham ace Dimitar Berbatov, whose 100% record came from nine attempts.
Former Southampton forward Rickie Lambert and former Liverpool ace Jan Molby are joint third, with seven out of seven strikes from the spot.
Other footballers who also make this list include Mario Balotelli, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Fabio Borini, Callum Wilson and Marko Arnautovic – click through the gallery above to find out which 24 players have a 100% record from the spot in the EPL!
