FC Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez has explained why he thinks his former boss, Pep Guardiola, would succeed in the Premier League.
The midfielder was part of Guardiola's side that won 14 trophies in just four years at the Camp Nou and is still full of praise for the Spaniard.
"He would adapt to any team, any team. He would bring his fantastic touch of football," he told EuroSport when asked whether Guardiola would be a success in England.
"Pep is a very prepared manager, he's very meticulous, a perfectionist, he’s got very clear mind for football and would be a success in any team."
The 35-year-old also insisted he doesn't know what the future holds for Guardiola after the Spaniard was strongly linked with Manchester City.
"I don't know, I don't know," he added.
"It depends on football and the results as we don't know what's going to happen yet. Maybe he will win the treble and his contract will be renewed, I don't know.
"He's a magnificent manager and he's doing a great job. They've had an incredible start, that's clear. They are giving us extraordinary football."
Bayern Munich reportedly offered Guardiola a new contract but the Spaniard is yet to sign on the dotted line, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
