The Colombia striker has been struggling under Louis van Gaal and only scored four goals in 20 appearances for the Red Devils this season.
He was an unused substitute in United’s last two games, and was even sent to play in the youth side where South African Bongani Khumalo kept him quiet.
The Daily Mail refers to sources close to Falcao, claiming he is convinced he joined the wrong club.
Liverpool were reportedly also in the running for the 29-year-old, but he eventually joined United on transfer deadline day.
The Red Devils can still make his loan move permanent, but it seems unlikely the club will pay the agreed fee of £43 million.
Falcao was rated as one of the deadliest strikers in football before suffering a serious knee injury in January 2014.
It remains uncertain whether Van Gaal is just not a fan of the striker, or whether he is struggling to get back to his best.
