Musona’s CBL Votes Wasted?

Knowledge Musona is currently the player with the second-highest number of votes in Kaizer Chiefs' line-up behind goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, while simultaneously the 'Smiling Assassin' is not in Mzansi to compete in this year’s edition of the Carling Black Label Cup.

The Zimbabwean striker spent the 2014/15 season on loan at Kaizer Chiefs from his parent club, Hoffenheim in Germany, and despite the uncertainty of his future at Amakhosi, he was listed a player eligible to be voted for by the Chiefs supporters to play in the one-day soccer spectacle.

As reported by Soccer Laduma in this week’s edition, 881, Musona is back in Germany with Hoffenheim looking at securing a move back with the German side.

This morning, Chiefs football manager, Bobby Motaung, also addressed the situation regarding Musona’s situation on the club’s Twitter account.

"Musona is undergoing rehab, soon we will make an announcement about him, we will finalize the issue in a week's time!"-Bobby Motaung #KCPressCon

Soccer Laduma Editor, Clint Roper, tweeted to the club, asking why Musona was left as a player supporters had the option of voting for, and the response from the Soweto giants was that Musona was still part of the team when the Carling Black Label was launched.

“With regards to Musona why have you allowed him to be a voting option in #CBL if nothing is finalized? @Kaizer_Chiefs,” tweeted Roper, questioning why he (Musona) was included in the voting.

“Musona was part of the club from the time the voting started. We are still in talks to have him don the Gold & Black,” replied the club on their official Twitter account.

The Smiling Assassin managed to attract a total of 913,068 votes which are now effectively null and void, suggesting the Kaizer Chiefs supporters have wasted votes on a player who was never going to compete.
