Netherlands Too Good For Banyana

South Africa were beaten 2-0 by Netherlands in an international Women's friendly at the Mandemakers Stadium in Waalwijk on Tuesday.

The clash started slowly as neither side managed to create any clear-cut goalscoring opportunities in the first 25 minutes.

However, the deadlock was broken in the 31st minute when the hosts hit the front thanks to Vivianne Miedema who curled a strike past Barker in goal.

Netherlands were comfortably in charge of the tie as the first half wore on, but Banyana Banyana had two decent attempts on goal just before the break as Motlhalo blasted a shot over before Nyandeni's strike was tipped over.

The hosts took a 1-0 lead into the break and looked the better side in the opening exchanges of the second half.

On the hour mark Netherlands came within inches of doubling their lead over South Africa, but the ball zipped just past the goal.

The visitors tried to get themselves back into the game but the home team netted a second goal in stoppage time as Miedema completed her brace to secure the victory.
