Bafana Bafana head coach Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba and his technical team are expected to make an announcement on replacements for Dean Furman and Tebogo Langerman.
The Bafana technical team has been dealt a blow, following the release of Furman and Langerman from the squad to face Senegal in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers on the weekend.
It was reported on the Soccer Laduma website that Furman is expected to miss the game with Senegal due to an injury to his ribs.
Having sat out yesterday’s 6-1 friendly victory over Molemole Academy after it was initially thought he had picked a minor injury, Furman has now been confirmed unavailable for the all-important clash against the Lions of Teranga.
While confirming the news of Furman’s withdrawal from the squad on Bafana’s official Twitter account, it has also been stated that Langerman will miss out with an injury.
“Tebogo Langerman & Dean Furman have been released from the Bafana squad after picking up injuries. Replacements to follow,” Bafana tweeted.
In another tweet that followed shortly afterwards, it has been confirmed that Daine Klate is nursing an injury.
“Dean Furman & Tebogo Langerman are out of Bafana Bafana team while Klate is nursing a minor injury,” Bafana tweeted.
