Here are the ratings:

Itumeleng Khune: 5/10 - Not much he could do for Mauritania's goal and hardly had a save to make throughout the encounter.

Abbubaker Mobara: 6.5/10 - The young defender impressed on his Bafana debut. He was solid defensively and also offered an attacking threat down the right flank.

Tebogo Langerman: 6/10 - Much like Mobara, Langerman made an impact on both ends of the pitch and looks to have made the left-back spot his own.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele: 6/10: Deployed in the heart of the defence and put in a solid display alongside Hlatshwayo.

Thulani Hlatshwayo: 6/10: Hlatshwayo led by example on the night, winning most of his aerial duels and he hardly put a foot wrong throughout the encounter.

Andile Jali: 6/10: Lacked the match fitness, which showed in the early stages but he had more of an influence on the game after Bafana leveled matters.

Hlompho Kekana: 6.5/10: Kekana was his usual self in the middle of the park, breaking up the opposition's attacks and he also contributed with the equaliser.

Mpho Makola: 5/10: Showed a few glimpses of his talent in the first half on the right flank, but faded as the game went on.

Aubrey Modiba: 5/10: Deployed on the left flank, the 21-year-old could not stamp his authority on the game and was often anonymous in the final third.

Sibusiso Vilakazi: 5/10: The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder got off to a slow start, but showed a few glimpses of what he can do in the second half, before being replaced with 10 minutes remaining.

Thamsanqa Gabuza: 4/10: Gabuza has often impressed whenever he pulls on a Bafana shirt, however he had a night to forget against Mauritania, as he in-effective display was capped off with a penalty miss.

Substitutes:

Tokelo Rantie: 5/10: Replaced Gabuza for the final 30 minutes, but was unable to make the desired impact.

Dean Furman: 5/10: The midfielder replaced Kekana after 55 minutes, but did well to help Bafana retain possession.

Gift Motupa: NA: Not on the field long enough to receive a rating.
