There's an update on the potential transfer of Bongani Zungu to one of Europe's top outfits after the Bafana Bafana star arrived back in France this week.
Zungu, who plays for Amiens SC in the French Ligue 1, is expected to soon finalise his move to Scottish giants Rangers FC next season.
The Siya crew understands that the midfielder must still wait for his employers to agree on a transfer fee with Rangers, who showed interest in his services sometime last month, before he can officially relocate to the city of Glasgow.
It is then that he can discuss personal terms.
News that the club coached by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was after the South African midfielder emerged three weeks ago while Zungu was still here at home enjoying his break after the French league was suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
It has been no secret that the 27-year-old has caught the eye of several top clubs in Europe and was on the verge of joining RDC Mallorca in Spain's La Liga six months ago, but the deal fell through in the final hours of the transfer deadline, with Zungu having flown there and been put through the rigorous medical checks.
There was also talk that he could remain in France and not move to the lower division with Amiens expected to be relegated.
Zungu does still have a year to run on his contract, but should Amiens decide against selling then the Bafana man will then become a free agent in June next year. So it is in the French club's best interest to cash in now or risk losing him without a fee paid for his services in about years' time.
