Bafana Bafana striker Luther Singh has opened up on his personal struggles that saw him spend a lengthy period on the sidelines with his club FC Copenhagen.
The 24-year-old is back and training with his teammates, but he had to wait for a period of six months before doing so.
The Stars of Africa development product sealed a big-money move to the Danish giants from Braga at the start of the season; however, the move hasn't quite gone according to plan for both club and player.
On the field, Singh managed just nine appearances for his club, while off the field, the man from Noordgesig suffered from a bout of illness that saw him hospitalized towards the end of last season.
Now, Singh appears to have shaken off his troubles and has vowed to come back better and stronger.
"It feels great to be back, being part of and training with the team full time. It's something that I've missed. I'm just grateful and very happy to be back. Its like a feeling that I cant express. I'm overjoyed, over the moon and very emotional at the same time," Singh told the club's media department in a recent interview.
"I got the support from my teammates, my coaches, the staff and everyone at FC Copenhagen. It feels good to be back," he said.
Without going into much detail, Singh touched on the struggles he endured and has credited his family and teammates for their support during his dark times.
"I'm good we all know that it was a rough time for me, but the hard time is over and now we look forward to greater and better things, for me and for the club as well.
"I was just very ill, and it got me to be in hospital. It was tough for me personally, but I don't want to go into too much details. I feel like it wasn't easy. My family came here, and it made things much easier for me, because I had the support from the club and from my family as well," he added.
