An Orlando Pirates legend has refrained from the negativity on whether new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has what it takes to take the club to another level.
The timing of Pirates appointing a relatively unknown coach or an unproven coach, has put Ouaddou under pressure, after former coach Jose Riveiro set the standards high.
By winning five trophies in nearly three seasons, Riveiro carved his name as the best coach at the Buccaneers in the history of the PSL.
The Spanish coach also finished second in the Betway Premiership in each of his three campaigns at Ezimnyama.

Even though Riveiro was doubted when he was initially announced, there were not high expectations, as he took over from a team that finished sixth in the Premiership standings.
And so there is logic to why the Bucs supporters expected a big name coach who can finally deliver the league title for the first time since 2012.
"Ja, sometimes you can judge a book by it's cover only to find out that's not the case. 95 percent of people are already doubting him," Pirates legend Steve Lekoelea admitted, speaking to Soccer Laduma.

"But if you can check the (FIFA) Club World Cup final, the whole world was saying PSG is going to win that cup, but what happened? Chelsea won.
"Even at Pirates, don't judge a book by it's cover, let's wait for six, seven games and then we'll see. Just because he comes from Marumo (Gallants), they may not know that a dynamite comes in small packages but it creates something big.
"Only to find out that he's the coach who could win us the league, you see. We don't know," Lekoelea chose to trust the decision of the management to bring the Moroccan-French coach on board.
