Date: 06 September 2015
Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium
Katlego Mashego bagged a brace to help Mamelodi Sundowns secure a 2-0 win over the Nedbank Ke Yona team at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Brazilians nearly opened the scoring in the seventh minute but Tiyana Mabunda's glancing header sailed just wide of the upright.
Ke Yona goalkeeper, Juzeya Rampheng, came to his side's rescue in the 15th minute, as he pulled off superb save to keep out Hlompho Kekana's header.
Pitso Mosimane's side should have went ahead in the 23rd minute but Tebogo Langerman showed no composure and ballooned his effort over the bar from 12-yards out.
Sundowns eventually broke the deadlock after the 30-minute mark, when Katlego Mashego slotted home from six-yards out, after being picked out Kekana.
Mashego bagged his and Sundowns' second in the 54th minute, when he showed great composure to lob Rampheng from 20-yards out, after latching onto Surprise Moriri's long ball.
Mosimane decided to introduce a couple young faces after 60 minutes and introduced Samuel Julies and Percy Tau.
Julies could have bagged a goal in the 79th minute when he was teed up by Mashego but his effort was deflected out by the Ke Yona shot-stopper.
Sundowns managed to see out the remaining stage with relative ease and made a few more changes, while no Ke Yona side has found the back of the net in all three years.
