Mamelodi Sundowns star attacker Lucas Ribeiro Costa has been handed an award for his brilliance at the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Brazilian was one of Sundowns' star performers in a memorable campaign in the USA, as Sundowns finished in third place, narrowly missing out on a spot in the knockout phase of the competition which English Premier League side Chelsea eventually won.

During their group stage campaign, Ribeiro scored an impressive goal against German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund, running half the pitch to give Sundowns the lead in a game they ended up losing 4-3.
That goal was nominated for the goal of the tournament award and it was voted for by fans. With Sundowns gaining so much popularity during the Club World Cup, it hardly comes as a surprise that the Brazilians' goal has been voted the best.

Ribeiro is no stranger to scoring beautiful goals. Last season, he bagged a few memorable goals and one of them, against Soweto giants Orlando Pirates, has been nominated for the Betway Premiership Goal of the Season award. Like the one in the USA, Ribeiro ran half the pitch, beating the Pirates midfielders and defenders before putting the ball in Sipho Chaine's net.
