Update From Chiefs On Extent Of Nurkovic Injury

Kaizer Chiefs have revealed the extent of striker Samir Nurkovic's injury and confirmed how long he is expected to be sidelined.

As previously reported by the Siya crew, the Serbian forward "could be out between six and eight weeks" following an operation on his knee.

"Samir had surgery last week. They found a little tear in the cartilage of the right knee. The surgeon says he could be out between 6 to 8 weeks," said the club's physiotherapist, David Milner, as quoted on the Chiefs website.

"They smoothed out the cartilage. Overall the operation was a success and in a week's time he will be reassessed by the surgeon. We will have a clearer idea as to what is going on and plan the recovery process. We believe the timeline provided is one we can work with for now,"

Nurkovic is expected back in training in the second half of the season, meaning only at the start of 2022.

"All is well. It has been just a week since surgery. I am still moving around with crutches, it's still painful, I am getting better, and hopefully soon we can start the rehab," the player said on the club's official website.

Stuart Baxter says Njabulo Blom is the best right back in SA. Who's your pick?
