As Kaizer Chiefs prepare to start their Betway Premiership campaign away from home this weekend, new coach Nasreddine Nabi has tons of work to do to improve on their record on the road.
Amakhosi, who face Marumo Gallants at Free State Stadium this Saturday, had a horrible record away from home last season. In the periods where Molefi Ntseki and then Cavin Johnson were in charge, the club suffered eight defeats in their 15 matches away from home.

They managed four draws and only three wins on the road, ending the season in 10th place. In total, Amakhosi dropped 32 points away from home last season, so it's hardly a surprise that the club encountered its worst season in the PSL era.
In 2022/23, under the tutelage of Arthur Zwane, the Soweto giants were on the receiving end of six defeats on the road, with two draws. They won seven times away from home. They dropped 22 points on the road that season.
Their campaign this season starts away from home and they would no doubt want to set the tone with a positive result. If they are to launch a serious challenge this season, being able to collect points on the road will be a key factor for the Soweto giants.

The delayed start to the new league season has given Nabi an opportunity to work with the squad, but only time will tell if the extra time he had with the team was of great benefit.
