The story
Newly signed Amakhosi attacking midfielder Ethan Chislett is slowly settling into life as a Glamour Boy after joining the club's pre-season tour to the Netherlands.
The Durban-born baller is reportedly set to introduce his football brand to South Africa, having made waves in Europe over the last few years.
Ethan co-owns JOGA with his brother Zack, and the brand offers what they describe as innovative football gear like mini shin pads — designed for players who value comfort, agility, and style.
According to the brand's origin story, shared on its website, in 2022, brothers Zack and Ethan Chislett set out to transform shin pad design after noticing a major flaw in traditional models — they were bulky, uncomfortable, and often avoided by players altogether.
To cater to the players who had to resort to makeshift or unsafe alternatives, increasing their risk of injury and drawing on Zack's semi-professional and Ethan's professional football experience, the duo launched JOGA mini shin pads, aiming to offer a sleek, comfortable, and protective alternative that wouldn't hinder performance.
According to Prince Sobayeni, who is close to the Amakhosi star, one of the fastest-growing UK football equipment brands is opening itself up to the Mzansi market.
From FC Barcelona's Pau Cubarsi to Brighton & Hove's Jack Hinshelwood and Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, the JOGA brand has built a healthy roster of ballers who wear its shinpads.
