Venue: Olympiastadion
After thrashing Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, Bayern Munich were held to a 1-1 draw by Hertha Berlin on Saturday evening.
The match started at high tempo with Bayern looking to get an early goal.
Bayern were keeping more of the possession but struggled to carve out any clear-cut chances in the opening 20 minutes.
Hertha opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Vedad Ibisevic.
Marvin took a decisive free-kick and Ibesevic was at the end of it at the far post to slot past Manuel Neuer, 1-0.
Hertha defended well to head into the half-time break leading 1-0. Bayern could not create clear cut chances while Hertha asked all sorts of questions.
Hertha deserved their lead and would have been happy with the lead. However Bayern seemed to be suffering from a European hangover as they lacked the killer punch they normally possess.
Hertha were playing on the counter-attack in the first ten minutes of the second-half.
Philipp Lahm and Arjen Robben combined well on the right wing, which was the most productive for Bayern but the Hertha defence dealt with the danger effectively time and time again.
Hertha's defensive organisation was good and thwarted Bayern on their way to claiming the three points.
The Bundesliga champions eventually found the equaliser in stoppage time, as Lewandowski found the back of the net with a smart finish.
