The Juventus superstar scored all three goals as the Italian giants overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit to eliminate Atletico Madrid 3-2 on aggregate earlier this week.
However, his treble only took his tally for the 2018/19 UCL campaign to four goals, which currently puts him outside the top 10 goalscorers in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo's longstanding rival Lionel Messi climbed to the summit of the UCL goalscorers chart after taking his goal return to eight in this campaign following his brace in FC Barcelona's 5-1 thrashing of Olympique Lyon.
He shares the top spot with Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski, who will not be able to add to his eight strikes from the group stage after the Bavarians were sent packing by Liverpool on Wednesday.
Mali striker Moussa Marega scored as FC Porto knocked out AS Roma last week, and has now netted once in each of his past six UCL appearances – becoming only the sixth player in the history of the tournament to do so – while Ajax Amsterdam's Dusan Tadic has also found the back of the net on six occassions in the UCL this season.
Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero is among five players who complete the top 10 with five UCL goals each.
