Europe's elite club competition returns on Friday night with some fascinating fixtures, with Juventus hosting Olympique Lyon, and Manchester City taking on Real Madrid in the second legs of their round of 16 ties.

There are more UCL matches to look forward on Saturday night, when FC Barcelona go up against Napoli and Bayern Munich host Frank Lampard's Chelsea.

Ahead of these exciting and eagerly awaited Champions League clashes, a recap of the top goalscorers so far in this season's tournament might be helpful for supporters hoping to see their favourite player claim the best goalscorer prize.

Incredibly, despite Juventus and Barca still being in the competition, neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo feature in the top 10 at this point, with both superstars having only found the net twice in Europe so far in this campaign.

Atalanta forward Josip Ilicic's five goals sees him come in at ninth in the standing, although the Slovenian will reportedly not feature in his side's single-leg quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain next week after he was granted special leave by his club.

Reports suggest that the player is considering a shock retirement from football after finding out his wife, who lives in Slovenia, has been cheating on him.
