For the first time in 10 years, four Premier League teams have qualified for the last eight of Europe's elite club competition, namely: Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. Ajax Amsterdam, FC Porto, Ronaldo's Juventus and Messi's FC Barcelona are the other four clubs left in the tournament.
The quarter-final draw has produced some spicy clashes, and with the semi-final draw also already being confirmed, it is clear that Messi and Ronaldo could meet in a potential final.
Mourinho, who is currently without a club but has been working as a pundit, thinks this is exactly what will happen as he believes Barca and Juve are the two strongest sides left in the competition.
"Favorites? I would say Juve and Barcelona. Everyone talks about Ronaldo and Messi, but I prefer to talk about Juve and Barca," he told beIN SPORTS.
"The English teams, Ajax and Porto are good sides too, but they don't have the same amount of experience.
"When you have Ronaldo or Messi, it certainly gives you a big plus."
