A former Bafana Bafana coach has taken charge of the Oman national team, who are aiming to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Carlos Quieroz is back on the international scene after being appointed head coach of the Oman national side.

"We welcome Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz as the national team's technical director, and we wish him success in his career with the Red Devils," a statement from the Oman FA read.
"The [Oman Football] Federation extends its thanks and appreciation to the previous technical staff, led by national coach Rashid Jaber, for their efforts during the past period, wishing them success in their future."
Oman recently reached the fourth round of the World Cup qualifying stage along with Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and United Arab Emirates.
