Cristiano Ronaldo Wrongfully Booked For Diving

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo received a controversial yellow card for diving, although replays show he was clearly brought down in the penalty box.

Instead of getting a penalty, which would have put his side 1-0 up, Ronaldo received a yellow card and will now miss the game against Eibar on the weekend.

The 30-year-old entered the penalty box, but was brought down as he cut back to find some space.

Rayo defender, Antonio Amaya clearly touched Ronaldo as replays show, but referee Mario Melero didn't point to the spot. Instead he booked Ronaldo, who was clearly agitated with the decision.

However, the Portuguese did eventually find the opener and scored his 37th goal of the season before setting up James Rodriguez's 2-0.

It is yet to be seen whether Real will appeal the decision. Los Blancos might prefer Ronaldo to sit out against Eibar with more tricky upcoming fixtures against Sevilla, Valencia and Celta Vigo approaching.

But Rodriguez and Toni Kroos also received their respective fifth booking and will sit out against the 14th placed side.
