Romano has revealed that the Premier league side have already made contact with Nice for the defender, however a deal can only be made if Harry Maguire leaves Old Trafford.
Reports claim that West Ham United are trying to sign the England international and have already made a second bid of £30million after their £20million bid was rejected by the Manchester outfit.
Various claim that Man Utd have to offload players before they are allowed to bring in new faces, with Donny van De Beek, Fred and Scott McTominay likely to leave the club in the coming weeks.
