Following the French giants' comprehensive 5-2 victory over Montpellier on the weekend, the PSG camp appeared to become embroiled in controversy after Neymar "liked" some posts made on social media in which Mbappe was criticised.
The 23-year-old seemed to get under his colleague's skin over the course of their Ligue 1 clash on Saturday, seemingly challenging Neymar's decision to take the second penalty that had been awarded to PSG in the first half.
The Brazilian ignored Mbappe's plea to take the kick from 12 yards, perhaps due to the fact that his teammate had already had an opportunity to score with a penalty minutes earlier but squandered his chance.
The former Barcelona forward's activity online, reports claim, could also be down to the rumour that Mbappe asked the club's board to sell Neymar in this transfer window after the Frenchman signed a new three-year deal earlier this year.
At the time of his renewal, it was speculated that Mbappe would be given more of a say over club matters on a contract that saw him become the world's highest-paid player on a staggering wage of €961 538 a week (R16 million) after tax, as per Capology.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner therefore takes home about €50 million (R833 million) a year after deductions, a salary that is significantly bigger than Lionel Messi and Neymar's, who was once PSG's best-paid footballer.

Neymar, however, is still on a lucrative package compared to the rest of his teammates in Paris, with his annual salary more than double what ex-Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos earns in Ligue 1.
