Robert Lewandowski Reveals Why He Moved To Barcelona

Following his big-money switch to Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski has explained why he thought the Catalan giants were the best team for him to move to.

Earlier this week, the Poland international finally put an end to the drawn-out saga that was his transfer from Bayern Munich to the Blaugrana when he signed a four-year deal with the Spaniards.

Having spent the past eight years in Munich with the Bavarians, Lewandowski won all there was to win at club level, with the past two seasons culminating in European Golden Shoe honours for the striker.

The 33-year-old is now keen to emulate his success with the German side in Spain, calling Catalonia the ideal place to reaffirm his greatness by continuing to win with the five-time European champions.

"I am very happy to be here," the Warsaw native told the media at his official presentation, as per Goal.

"Yesterday I saw the potential that this team has and I am ready to be part of this great club.

"In the world of football it's very important to want to win, and I think I'm in the best place to do it.

"There is a lot of quality in the team and a lot of potential. I am at a good club. We have a lot of work to do and I am very happy. I am ready to play the next game."

During his time playing for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern, the Pole scored 447 goals in 562 matches for the German giants.

Barca started the 2021/22 season with a number of underwhelming performances but picked up form once manager Xavi Hernandez was placed in the Camp Nou hot seat.

With the additions of Raphinha, Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen and Lewandowski, the club will be keen to build on last season's progress by once again challenging for the top titles available.
