It seems Robert Lewandowski could finally be making his way to Barcelona, and it is believed the deal could be completed as early as this week.
According to Polish journalist Mateusz Borek, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have finally agreed on a €50 million (R858 million) fee for the 33-year-old.
The forward has insisted for a while now that his time with the Bavarian giants has come to an end, and that he would like to the leave the Allianz Arena in this transfer window.
Still contracted to Die Roten until the end of the 2022/23 campaign, Bayern's chiefs have been reluctant to let Lewandowski go and have been playing hardball with the Catalan giants, who are understood to be the Pole's preferred next destination.
However, it seems the two clubs have now come to a compromise, with Borek suggesting that Lewandowski will definitely be a member of the Blaugrana once the 2022/23 season commences.
Personal terms between the club and the attacker's representatives have been a formality for months, due to the close relationship Lewandowski's agent Pini Zahavi and Barca president Joan Laporta have.
The Poland captain could bid farewell to his Bayern teammates this week as he looks to put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Catalan side.
