Reports suggest that Barcelona are looking to terminate the contract of their top goalscorer from last season.
Having joined the Blaugrana on a free transfer at the beginning of last season, it looks as though Memphis Depay will once again be a free agent soon.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Netherlands international and his representatives are negotiating with the Catalan giants to settle the rest of his contract as he looks for an opportunity to play regular first-team football.
With the acquisitions of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele's contract renewal and Ansu Fati's return from injury, it is unlikely Depay will retain his place as the Spanish club's leading forward.
It is claimed head coach Xavi Hernandez had already informed the 29-year-old prior to the team's tour of the US that he would be surplus to requirements once the 2022/23 LaLiga season commenced, but took him on tour regardless.
During Barca's pre-season, the Dutchman found the back of the net twice, and his performances have perhaps piqued the interest of a number of clubs, with Depay now linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, it is Juventus who are apparently in pole position to land the forward's signature.
Following Paulo Dybala and Federico Bernardeschi's departures, the Old Lady are looking to add more firepower to their attack.
The Bianconeri were reportedly keen on securing Depay's services last season already when he left Olympique Lyon, but the forward opted to sign for Barca instead.
