Official: Barcelona Unveil New No.8

Spanish giants FC Barcelona have officially unveiled their new number eight, a number which was last worn by the likes of Andres Iniesta and Pep Guardiola.

The Catalan giants announced that rising star Pedri will be donning the number eight jersey for the 2022/23 season after spending the last two campaigns with 16.

Veteran defender Dani Alves wore the number eight on his return to the Camp Nou in January, but the player has since left the club following the conclusion of his contract.

Pedri can now make his name with number eight jersey and follow in the footsteps of Iniesta, Guardiola, Phillip Cocu and and Hristo Stoichokov.

New signings Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen were both unveiled at the Camp Nou this week, but are yet to receive their official numbers.

Franck Kessie – has joined Barcelona on a free transfer after leaving AC Milan

Andreas Christensen – has joined Barcelona on a free transfer after leaving Chelsea

Kalvin Phillips – has joined Manchester City from Leeds United
