Official: Barcelona Confirm Departure Of First-Team Star

LaLiga giants FC Barcelona have confirmed the permanent departure of a first-team star ahead of the new season.

The Catalan giants have confirmed that defender Oscar Mingueza has joined fellow LaLiga side Celta Vigo in a permanent deal.

Migueza was one of the players who did not travel with the first team to United States for the pre-season tour.

"FC Barcelona and Real Club Celta de Vigo have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of the player Óscar Mingueza , pending the signature of the contracts and the player passing the medical examination," the club said in a statement.

The Spanish defender made his first-team debut in 2020 under Ronald Koeman in the UEFA Champions League against Dynamo Kyiv.

Overall, Mingueza racked up 66 appearances for the Catalan giants and also picked up a Copa del Rey winner's medal during the 2020/2021 season.
