Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong has reportedly told his Barcelona colleagues what his decision is regarding his links with Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has been the subject of a lot of speculation in this transfer window, with the Red Devils holding an unmovable interest in the former Ajax Amsterdam player.
Rumours in Spain, however, have suggested that De Jong has always preferred to continue at Barcelona, whom the midfielder considers his dream club.
Cadena Ser has become the latest publication to report this narrative, with the Spanish outlet claiming the Netherlands international has told his teammates he will not be leaving the Blaugrana in this window.
Furthermore, it is said that De Jong has informed United of his decision despite Erik ten Hag's determination to reunite with the former Eredivisie talent.
It is thought that the midfielder's sale would be significant for Barcelona as the club needs to raise funds in order to register their new arrivals – Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen.
De Jong has made 138 appearances for the Catalan giants since his arrival in 2019, contributing to 30 goals across all competitions.
