BREAKING: Barcelona Compete Their Fifth Signing For 2022/23

BREAKING: Barcelona Compete Their Fifth Signing For 2022/23

Barcelona's fifth signing of the season has now officially been confirmed with their acquisition of Jules Kounde.

'De Jong Should Sue Barca'

Following a drawn-out transfer saga involving Chelsea, the Blaugrana finally have their French centre-back.

At one point, it seemed the France international was bound for west London, with the Blues having agreed a fee with Sevilla for the player. However, at the last minute, Barca once again captured one of Thomas Tuchel's targets and now Kounde will be playing for the five-time European champions.

The 25-year-old Paris native joins the Catalan giants from Andalusian side for a reported fee of €50 million (R854 million), which could rise to €60 million (R1 billion) with add-ons included.

Kounde has now got his dream move, with Xavi Hernandez reinforcing at the back following the previous arrivals of Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski in this window.

Here are the highest-paid players currently playing at the Camp Nou:
