Spanish giants Barcelona have reportedly beaten Chelsea to yet another signing in this transfer window.

According to Sport, the Catalan giants have reached an agreement with Sevilla over the acquisition of French centre-back Jules Kounde.
The Spanish publication claims the Blaugrana have agreed to pay €50 million (R859 million), plus an extra €10 million (R171 million) in add-ons, for the 23-year-old's signature.

Kounde, just a few days ago, seemed to be destined to join Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea, but was believed to prefer a move to Xavi Hernandez's Barca.
This appears to be similar to Raphinha's transfer saga before he completed a switch to the Spanish giants after the Blues had made him a top target ahead of the coming campaign.
The Brazilian eventually signed for Barcelona in a deal worth €58 million (R997 million), negotiated by his agent Deco, with Kounde now tipped to become the club's latest signing.

After his arrival at Sevilla from Bordeaux in 2019, the defender has made 133 appearances in all competitions for the LaLiga club, while he has been capped on 11 occasions to date for France.
