Mere days after confirming him as their newest signing, Barca have now unveiled Andreas Christensen as their latest central defender.

He follows suit after Ivorian Franck Kessie, who was unveiled by the Blaugrana on Wednesday.

The Denmark international is welcomed to the Camp Nou after his contract at Chelsea expired. Having signed for Barca since, the 26-year-old becomes only the sixth Dane ever to play for the five-time European champions.

Christensen has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Barca, which includes a €500 million (R8.5 billion) release clause.

"I am very happy to be here," the Dane said as per the club's official website.

"I can't wait to get started.

"This is a great opportunity for me. I have been going through some great times recently and now I am here I want to help the team win titles."
