Barcelona have reportedly told two players they will not be given shirt numbers ahead of the 2022/23 season.
In an apparent attempt to pressure them into leaving, the Spanish giants have made it clear to Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite that they have no future at the club.
According to Sport, the Blaugrana have informed both the defender and the striker they will not be handed jersey numbers for the 2022/23 campaign, and that the club will terminate their contracts on 31 August should they not find new teams before the window closes.
While Braithwaite is believed to have attracted interest from a number of Spanish sides and a club in Saudi Arabia, Umtiti seems to have struggled to secure himself a move in this window.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner's injury and fitness issues have left him undesirable to top clubs in Europe, although it has been claimed the former Olympique Lyon centre-back does have offers on the table.
It is further suggested that Braithwaite will only leave Barcelona if the club agrees to pay him out for the two years that remain on his contract, making it difficult for the LaLiga side to negotiate his departure.
Umtiti, meanwhile, is said to be waiting for more attractive proposals to arrive, with the 28-year-old linked with a return to Ligue 1.
Barca recently confirmed the free transfer of 23-year-old defender Oscar Mingueza to Celta Vigo, joining Rey Manaj, Moussa Wague, Dani Alves and Philippe Coutinho in leaving on permanent transfers.
Clement Lenglet and Francisco Trincao have left on loan deals, with the Frenchman joining Tottenham Hotspur for the coming season and the winger penning a short-term deal with Sporting Lisbon.
