Raphinha, 25, is set to become the Blaugrana's third arrival of the transfer window following the additions of Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen, who both arrived as free agents.
The Selecao winger is represented by ex-Barcelona midfielder Deco, who was believed to be key in a deal being struck with the LaLiga giants.
Barca will become the fifth club Raphinha has represented in his playing career, having previously turned out for Vitoria Guimaraes, Rennes, Sporting Lisbon and Leeds.
In England, he made 67 appearances in all competitions, contributing to 29 goals.
