The Bloemfontein native spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at the record Moroccan champions from Ka Bo Yellow, and Wydad are now attempting to orchestrate a permanent transfer.
The North African giants are understood to be extremely pleased with Lorch’s performances since his arrival, particularly at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Wydad came up against Manchester City, Juventus, and Al Ain at the global spectacle, and throughout the group stages, the 31-year-old earned widespread acclaim. He was arguably the team’s standout performer, notably scoring against the Old Lady, and coupled with his overall contributions, the club is believed to be working hard to sign him permanently.
According to Le360Sport, talks between the Red Castle and Sundowns are moving in a positive direction, with the three-time CAF Champions League winners eager to finalise a deal swiftly.
Late last week, it was reported that the player’s agent had arrived in Casablanca to help expedite the move, and since then, discussions appear to have accelerated.
