Former Zimbabwe national team coach Rudi Gutendorf, who has a Guinness World Record to his name, has passed away at the age of 93.

Gutendorf died in the presence of his family on Friday, with his death being confirmed by the German Football Association the following day.
"Rudi Gutendorf was an outstanding ambassador of German football, what he has done for the reputation of the German coach, being in more than 30 countries on five continents, is unique," DFB vice-president Dr. Rainer Koch said.
"…Rudi Gutendorf was a smart, humorous and joyful personality, the DFB will keep him an honorable memory."

The German tactician, who was once described as a "football missionary" by the BBC, holds a world record for managing 55 clubs across 32 countries and five continents.
Gutendorf left his mark in Africa as well, having led the national teams of Tanzania, Sao Tome and Príncipe, Ghana, Mauritius, Zimbabwe and Rwanda.

The former VfB Stuttgart and Schalke 04 manager's last position was as head coach of Samoa in 2003.
