Borussia Dortmund star forward Jadon Sancho could return to boyhood club Manchester City despite reports linking him with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
The 20-year-old, who has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 20 goals and registering 20 assists across all completions, could cost as much as £115 million (R2.4 billion), which could be a stumbling block for many potential suitors.
However, according to The Sun, the England international has told one of his close friends that he would be open to returning to the Etihad should current head coach Pep Guardiola renew his interest in him.
The dynamic forward left the Citizens in search of regular first-team football in 2017, joining Dortmund for £8 million (R173 million) despite being offered a contract worth £30 000 (R648 000) a week at the age of 17 by the Manchester club.
With German winger Leroy Sane reportedly looking to join Bayern Munich at a reported fee of £80 million (R1.7 billion) come the end of this coronavirus-hit campaign, the current Premier League champions could gather enough funds to match the former City trainee's hefty price should the two clubs agree terms.
However, with the EPL giants having lodged an appeal to their UEFA Champions League ban with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the club's transfer dealings could be disrupted until the final ruling is given in July.
