Arsenal 'Ready' To Spend R3.9 Billion After UCL Exit

Arsenal are reportedly set to back Mikel Arteta significantly once again in the transfer market.

Arsenal's owners are reportedly ready to significantly back Mikel Arteta in the transfer window once again, to the tune of R3.9 billion, following their UEFA Champions League exit.

According to the Guardian, the Gunners can expect another big-spending off-season when the next transfer window comes.

Owners of the north Londoners, Kronke Sports Entertainment, were present at the Allianz Arena for their club's elimination from the Champions League earlier this week, and are believed to be ready to spend on big-name players to further progress the Spaniard's project at the Emirates Stadium.

Atop of the list of their targets are said to be Newcastle United's Alexander Isak and Crystal Palace's Michael Olise.

In the case of the Swede, he has been enjoying the most prolific campaign of his professional career to date, having already bagged 21 goals in all competitions so far this season.

Other forwards such as his compatriot Viktor Gyokeres and Juventus hitman Dusan Vlahovic are also believed to be targets for the Gunners, but Solna native is reportedly a top priority for Arteta.

It is claimed £100 million (R2.3 billion) would get the 24-year-old out of St. James' Park.

Olise, while still expensive, would cost significantly less, with the same report stating that the Frenchman would cost the 13-time English champions £65 million (R1.5 billion).

The winger recently extended his deal with the Eagles, but it is said the aforementioned figure is a release clause set to be in place once the current campaign concludes.

Olise is believed to also be of interest to other Premier League giants such as Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United.
