An African striker playing for one of the biggest teams in the world has been accused of ignoring an international call-up.

Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was reportedly called to be a part of Cameroon's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
It was reported by Bild last week that the 32-year-old striker's invitation was sent to the wrong email address, therefore making it an administrative error, but that claim has now been disputed by Cameroon's head of communications.
"The Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT made no mistake of the email address or contacts to the club and to the player," Parfait Siki told ESPN.
"We sent out invitations to all players including Choupo on the 5th of March 2021. We sent to clubs and players individually.

"For the particular case of Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, we got no reply. We called him and he didn't answer. Normally, we are supposed to have a reply within 10 days.
"We did a follow-up by calling him and sending his invitation via his WhatsApp contact, still no response."
These remarks come after the player's father Camille claimed Bayern had not received his son's request to join up with the Indomitable Lions.
