Al Ahly went head-to-head with rivals Pyramids FC for the Egyptian Premier League title but the Red Devils prevailed with a 6-0 win over Pharco to secure their 45th title.
According to Yallakora, El Shenawy revealed he requested the stadium be opened to fans to experience the title victory.
"I spoke with Captain Mohamed Youssef about opening El Tetch Stadium to our fans so they can celebrate with us and our families more freely. He will discuss it with the management," he said.
The keeper added: “We are sons of the club, and we work for Al Ahly and its supporters. I always let my performance on the pitch do the talking, and we don’t get distracted by outside noise.”
Following the game, El Shenawy announced that he had signed a new two-year contract with the club and explained why Mamelodi Sundowns were so important for their league charge, according to Pan-Africa Football.
"After we were eliminated in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League [against Sundowns], we made a vow among ourselves that the remaining six league matches would be treated like cup finals in order to win the title. We had full confidence that we would become champions," the captain added.
The Egyptian goalkeeper was full of praise for the coaching staff, and thanked former coach Marcel Koller as well.

This title is extremely, extremely precious," he said.
