With the 2017/2018 PSL season now concluded, I feel the PSL must review the Golden Boot award.
Again, the PSL strikers failed to score at least 20 goals in a single campaign which is a shame and disgrace for South African football.
When was the last time the PSL had a scorer netting close to 20-30 goals in a single season? Where are the Fani Madida's, Shane McGregor’s, Albert Mahlangu's, Noel Cousin's and Siyabonga Nomvethe’s of today?
In my opinion, the PSL should only award strikers that score a set amount of goals.
With the European standard of scoring goals increasing year after year, teams in the PSL need to do more in addressing this problem.
What can strikers in the PSL do to score more goals?
