What Will It Take For Chiefs To Sack Steve, Relegation? – Reader’s Voice

Kaizer Chiefs looks to be heading to another trophyless season yet again.

At the start of the season Chiefs missed out on winning MTN8 Cup Competition, recently the Telkom Knockout and making matters worse, they have endured the most draws more than any other season in the 2017/18 Absa Premiership campaign.

The AmaKhosi fans have been too much vocal in calling for the removal of head coach Steve Komphela, but in all attempts, the voice of fans was never heard.

The media didn't make it easy either as pressure piled up on Steve. This saw the Chiefs management backing Steve and supporting him regardless.

Steve Komphela is not a man who would resign like other coaches when the team isn't producing results, the man just endures pressure and keeps his cool no matter what, as if he doesn't see the crisis since he was appointed head coach at Naturena.

When one looks at all that is happening at Naturena currently, one begins to wonder what will it take for Chiefs to sack Steve Komphela, perhaps relegation?

Who knows, but as fans, we lost interest even in watching Chiefs, let alone going to the stadium.

One could be forgiven for assuming that Steve Khompela knows something about somebody at Chiefs which, if it were to come to light, would destroy that particular somebody. Otherwise, why are they keeping a coach who has no clue at all about coaching a team of Chiefs calibre (three seasons without a trophy)? When he came to Chiefs, he had a very good foundation laid for him by Stuart Baxter but instead decided that the squad of players who had won two doubles in a row were not good enough for his team. In past I have commented that you could give this guy the best of both Real Madrid and Barcelona and he would still not know what to do with this crème de la crème. Apart from dragging Chiefs to the status of an ordinary team, he has destroyed the career of many a talented player in the process. It is up to Chiefs management to destroy the team's unrivalled legacy in South African soccer by keeping this man. Yes it will take relegation and they (Chiefs management) will applaud him for saving the team from relegation as he is very good at doing this with small teams.

Steve wont resign, this is his first fat cheque duty in his career,he rather die than to resign .If I remember well, he was one of the coaches talking very bad about Chiefs, but when he arrives at Chiefs,he saw the opportunity to break Chiefs fans' hearts.Lets wish management will learn from this.I also remember Kaizer saying that he doesnt see any south african coach who can coach chiefs. That time we wanted S.A coach hoping the coach will be understanding our players culture.I see now that we were wrong.Let Steve finish his term and he will go.

There is nothing wrong with Khompela. Its just that the strikers and other players at his disposal are misfiring. Have you noticed that Ecstein cannot shoot at goal. Some cannot score when not facing the goal post. Let's see the new signings. I give him 6 games, if there is no improvement then it will mean that he is the problem. The coach cannot enter the field to score.

It looks like there are those fans who don't appreciates guys you're disrespecting Khompela because he is a South African coach and if you look at the log you can't say it's that much bad with the players whom some of them are the ones who don't deliver,a person who must take a blame is Bobby

I feel sorry for bobby, remember when he said chiefs is a family business, playing home games all over the country, not buying quality players and hiring steve while know steve has never won any title, if chiefs cant afford fnb they should get cheaper home staduim so they can afford good players by the way why dont they make mutaung jnr the club manager and recall dr khumalo bt this time as the coach
