Kaizer Chiefs has brought in some good acquisitions this transfer window thus far. They signed expected big names in the local football fraternity, that fans have been longing for, for some time and what's great is the management consulted the coach too, before bringing these key players.
In previous years, it would be the fans or the coach who's not happy with the signings. And Bobby Motaung would always be blamed for signing free agents, buy one get one free or for players that doesn't fit in the coach's plans. But in this current transfer window, he has out done himself by bringing Leonard Castro, Kabelo Mahlasela, Sphelele Ntshangase and promoted Ntiya-Ntiya. Bobby brought in these players with the coach's knowledge, and made most of the Amakhosi fans excited.
While other fans wish Karma Billiat would be brought in too, and complete what would be the deadly attacking team.
Yet Steve Komphela opted not to play those new players only Ntiya-Ntiya played, and Chiefs played a goalless draw against fatigue Supersport United, it was Chiefs' 8th draw of the season. They failed to close the gap between them and log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who were beaten by Polokwane City again in the league this season.
While Chippa United won against Amazulu, thanks to their new signing Linda Mntambo's brace. Questions are being asked by Amakhosi fans, why didn't we see our new signings against Supersport United? For a coach who's under so much pressure, he should do whatever it takes to bring back the glory days at Naturena.
Should he not get 3 much needed points against unpredictable Polokwane City with the new players he has, what will be Steve's excuse this time around?
