Earlier today Kaizer Chiefs announced 3 new signings, including Billiat from Mamelodi Sundowns. But the club is still Coach less...yet that won't be for long, as it looks like Amakhosi are doing everything they can to bring back the last coach to win silverware for the club.
Kaizer Chiefs are fixing to lure back a familiar face in their search for a new coach, with recent reports linking them to Bafana Bafana mentor, Stuart Baxter.
With players returning to pre-season training next week, Amakhosi are in a race against time to fill the post left vacant by Bloemfontein Celtic’s new coach, Steve Komphela in April and, as Soccer Laduma reports, the club is looking to lure the Englishman back to Naturena.
According to the publication, there have been talks held already between the two parties, but a possible move is complicated by Baxter’s current role as coach of the national team.
Should the move fail, it would be the latest in a barrage of blows the club have suffered in their search for a new mentor.
Chiefs lost one of their targets, Patrice Carterton, out to Egyptian giants, Al Ahly and have faced some difficulty in acquiring the services of former Chelsea boss, Avram Grant.
