Mamelodi Sundowns champions league campaign hangs in balance.

It might be too early to start pressing the panic button, but Sundowns need to up their game when the second round of the African champions league resumes.

Currently the former champions are rooted at the bottom of the table and things are not looking good for them.

In the past two games, the Brazilians didn't show enough hunger to win their matches. As former champions, they must know that they will face great resistance from any opponent they face. Horoya and Togo-port are examples.

Sundowns will have to use their experience in the champions league to try and turn things around.

Trips to Wydad Casablanca and Horoya will be of great importance. Pitso's men will have to come back with at least four points from those games in order for them to have a chance to progress to the knockout stages.

They have what it takes to go a step further in this competition. South Africa needs her teams to stay competitive in continental competitions, Sundowns remains our hope.

As things stand though, they have a real fight in their hands.
